Ever noticed how every other post online glorifies “being broken,” “traumatized,” or “neurodivergent” like it’s a badge of honor — as long as it’s aesthetic enough for TikTok or Tumblr?

Meanwhile, the actually mentally ill — the ones drooling in the psych ward, screaming on the street, or locked in their rooms for weeks — get zero sympathy. Nobody writes poetry about the guy who smells like piss and argues with traffic lights.

Are we fetishizing pain or just comfortable packaging of it? Is “mental health awareness” just a narcissistic trend now?
