It feels to me like the LGBT acronym (and now LGBTQIA+ and all that) has become more of a problem than a help. It used to be a symbol of unity and a common front, but now there are so many different identities and interests that lumping everyone together feels artificial. Do gays, lesbians, trans people, and asexuals really have enough in common to fight under one banner? Or is it time for the groups to split up and stand on their own?
I’m not trying to divide — just seriously asking. What do you think?
